FAQs
Q: How does it work?
We furnish all required production resources — from theatre space to licensing rights — as well as a guided, independent learning framework to allow leaders and learners to achieve their potential. Mentors and learners collaborate in achieving outstanding results, while applying individualized learning goals and evaluation metrics to keep the process on track and ensure the program delivers practical learning opportunities.
Q: What resources does LF Summer Musical provide?
We handle all the details of producing and promoting a live theatre performance, including securing theatre and rehearsal space, acquiring show license rights, obtaining insurance, promoting ticket sales, providing a set (or materials and guidance to build it), and raising donations to cover expenses.
Additionally, we provide a flexible, mentor-guided approach to achieving individual development goals. Our collaborative production process provides participants with unique experience in planning and executing every aspect of each production.

Q: What's expected of mentors?
In this student-mentoring program, mentors generally are undergraduate college students with substantial experience and education in relevant areas of musical theatre production.
In effort to match skills and experience with needs and interests, we pair incoming creative and technical team members with experienced mentors. We then help them to collaborate in planning and management responsibilities, as well as tracking progress toward learning objectives. Mentors work with learners to establish individual development goals, and to evaluate progress and outcomes during the course of a production.

Q: What's expected of participants?
Participants agree to support the Director’s creative vision; to attend all required rehearsals and performances; and adhere to the LF Summer Musical Code of Conduct. Ideal candidates are asked to participate in at least two shows, if possible, so this season’s new learners may become next season’s leaders.
